The exquisite beauty and detail of the Ethiopian Coptic cross is truly something to behold. The cross is made up of two bold lines of equal length that intersect in the middle. At each angle are three points, representing the Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The open base is to allow them to be placed on a tall staff and carried during religious processions. Not only are these relics of history and Ethiopian heritage, they are examples of the fine art we, humans, craft in celebration of that which we love-be it God, nature, each other, etc.
These crosses are from the 20th C., made of metal alloys and have been individually hand cast in Ethiopia.
